Issue #11 - RAIN

Sorry for the delay in posting this guys, but here is Issue #11, 'Rain' with the cover drawn by Rosie (who sadly does not have her own blog yet!). This is probably the last issue until October due to everyone being spread across the country during the holidays. I'll see if we can organise something in the meantime but no promises.

As always, if you want you have any questions, you can get in touch at ggreves@hotmail.co.uk, and order issues online (25p each). The 11 issues are also available to look through at Wellington Terrace, Falmouth, as part of the 1st and 2nd year illustration show.

SPECIAL ISSUE #1 = ILLUSTRATION STUFF FAIR

Sorry for the very late posting, guys, but here is the first special issue of Bored Illustration Students! There were lots of cool zines, badges, prints and handmade stuff to buy as well as the AOI best illustrators gallery!
Various illustrators who were hosting stands at the Plymouth Illustration Stuff Fair took part in this issue.

ISSUE #10 - MORTAL ENEMIES

Everyone has been incredibly busy recently with self negotiated projects, but we have finally got Issue #10, with an awesome theme courtesy of Max and front cover by Emily (http://emilyafox.blogspot.com/).

ISSUE #9 - TRAVEL

Issue #9, 'TRAVEL' was inspired by the 2nd year trip to Barcelona! This week's extra-long issue was drawn by bored students whilst travelling on the coach and plane to Spain. The cover this week was drawn by a guest illustrator: our tutor Mark who came with us. He was a bit confused at the concept but at least tried. Now onto the artwork!

Update

Hey all, just thought I should let people know why there's not been a recent release of BIS.

It's because the 2nd year illustration students have had a two week break, been getting results, and on Sunday fly out to Barcelona!!

So have no fear, BIS will have some new issues up soon. I'm also hoping to get a Barcelona special out made up of sketches from the trip...lets hope its a productive week!

See you all soon :)

ISSUE #8 - ROBOTS

This week's cool ROBOT cover was drawn by Becky (lovefrom-becky.blogspot.com/). Sorry for the wait guys but issue #8 is finally out! Everyone's been very busy but thankfully there were still enough bored students to take part!

ISSUE #7 - DINOSAURS

The DINOSAUR cover for ISSUE #7 was drawn by Kate A this week (http://cargocollective.com/katealizadeh) and we also have several new contributors to the Bored Illustration Students zine, so check out the 'WHO ARE WE' page later!

ISSUE #6 - RABBITS

Issue #6, RABBITS, was drawn in the middle of an important project - children's books - at uni, but we still have some fantastic contributions this week! Thanks goes to Ella (http://elladraws.blogspot.com/) for the cute cover this week.

Claiming and Naming

Hey guys,
Because the doodles aren't signed, and people have been asking, I'm going to be putting the names of all the illustrators in a comment with every post. I've done the ones I can remember straight off and will confirm the others before posting! If anyone has some cool ideas for the next theme, let me know then, ok?
Also, I've found out that I can't comment on Firefox, and have to use Internet explorer instead, if any of you are having trouble adding comments as well. Just a heads up.

See you soon!

ISSUE #5 - ARCTIC ANIMALS

Theme inspired by a recent documentary with Richard Attenborough, this week's Bored Illustration Student's issue cover was drawn by Liz (website n/a). Some students started using colour, which will hopefully still come out tonally in the greyscale black and white mini-zine prints, but for those checking the images out on this blog you can enjoy a bit more variation than usual! Also, a couple of new illustrators have joined in this week, so check out their websites and details on the 'Who We Are' page. Let us know what you think! Here's the images:

ISSUE #4 - GREMLINS

Issue #4, GREMLINS, has Kate Evans (http://kaeillustration.blogspot.com/) to thank for its beautiful cover this week! This theme was particularly challenging for the exhausted bored illustration students, who spent the day squeezing all their creativity into their projects...but still were able to doodle us some Gremlins, so here they are:

ISSUE #3 - GHOSTS

Issue #3 is 'GHOSTS' in honour of Halloween! The cover for this issue was drawn by Emily (http://emilyafox.blogspot.com/). It's surprisingly hard to doodle a good-looking ghost...here's the rest of the artwork:
